debdestiny56 Premium Points: 69527073	# Posted: 3 Sep 2008 05:17 Hi Guys, sorry this is not a question about the site but I thought you may be able to advise me about my new laptop. Its an HP Compaq and everything is perfect, except for one thing!! When I'm typing just straight text like this the keyboard is fine and I can type as fast as usual BUT when I go to any of the crosswords I'm having huge problems, some letters I seem to have to press hard to make them work, other times I can just lightly tap a key and it works, it's taking ages to get a crossword done. Do you have any ideas? I thought perhaps that doing normal typing like this their is no program which has to recognise a letter whereas in a crossword it might take time to recognise the letter (my god what a lot of garble). Anyway, if you understand my question!! I'd really appreciate your ideas, I'm starting to give up on doing my beloved crosswords, Have a great day and celebrations Deb

Belwin Premium Points: 79784464	# Posted: 3 Sep 2008 13:43 Hi Debdestiny56, I'm not a techie, but this happened to me when I got a new computer too. And someone else, as I recall. Patience & perseverence seem to be the answer. It will be okay after a day or two.
